Description
Following Michael Jordan’s initial retirement in 1993, the Chicago Bulls commissioned “The Spirit,” a 12-foot sculpture by Omri Amrany and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany erected outside of the United Center. The statue depicts Jordan in his famous Jumpman pose, wearing the Air Jordan 9 model that he never actually wore in an NBA game. Over the years, the piece has become a tourist attraction and a rallying point for Bulls and Blackhawks fans.
