Description
After the success of his AJ1 iterations and revealing of multiple AJ4 samples at his MCA Chicago exhibition earlier this year, the sneaker community wondered what the next move for the Off-White designer would be in terms of working with the Jumpman again. But now we have our answer, and as 2020 is just upon the horizon, so is another collaboration between the two iconic imprints, arriving in the form of the Air Jordan 5. Once again seen bringing in his deconstructed flair to the forefront, this upcoming rendition ditches the silhouette’s traditional leather constructions and opts for a full synthetic/slightly-translucent exterior. Signature design language is very much present throughout as the medial sides feature his customary Beaverton branding, interior tongue patches are flipped upside down, and “SHOELACES” is printed boldy atop its strings. In addition, grey/black speckle graces the midsole spikes as a nod to the iconic AJ 5 “Black Metallic”, and feature pre-yellowed outsoles that give these an aged personality similar to the way the icy soles of retro Jordans would darken due to oxidation.
