Nike’s retro “Have a Nike Day” campaign has been reminding us to look on the bright side of life. From countless collections emblazoned with the famous Swoosh-smiley face to random releases featuring the theme. This next Air Force 1 “Have a Nike Day” is of the latter, popping up out of nowhere to brighten our day.
Like the many pairs preceding it, this too features the famed faces — three, in fact — splayed across the lateral heel. These, and laces reading “Go the Extra Smile” appear to be the only callouts to the campaign, with everything else arriving clad in simple finishes Smooth white leathers uppers are fixed with contrasting blacks across the tongues, liners, Swooshes, and heel overlays. The Checks are tacked on with contrast stitching, while muted orange laces provide the same distinction across the forefoot. Lastly, a gum rubber sole unit sits underfoot to complete the design.
