While the model is still in the mix of its 35th Anniversary, Nike will be showing some love to the sneaker culture overseas with Japan’s SNKRS users having a role in the making of this new AM1 rendition. The offering features elevates touches from the standard AM1, suggesting the shoes form part of a special collection. Branding from the 1970s lands on the top of the tongue and heel, while sock-liners introduce “Design By Japan” text.. To add more vintage accents, cream laces tie the sneaker down while an aged rubber midsole and gum outsole are added below. The sneaker is then topped off with a golf hangtag which nods to the love of the Air Max 1 by the Japan sneaker scene.
