Worn by the transcendent Marshall Faulk during his early days with the Indianapolis Colts and the consistent Ernie Mills from the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Barrage was most well-known for its eye-catching layered upper and bold Air branding, a detail that also appeared on other ’95 classics like the Air Max Uptempo. Although most of the original releases were straightforward, team-appropriate, two-color makeups, the Swoosh Brand has opted to get a little more colorful with this retro version. The upper combines a purple mesh base with black overlays and pops of sporty red, all while doling out a sizeable scoop of Swooshes, which appear on the midfoot strap, quarter, tongue, toebox, and tri-color heel tab. The tongue offers an abstract-shaped purple rubber patch, and a bulky midsole complete with the aforementioned “AIR” embellishment finalizes the look.
